Rentschler Arboretum Forest Restoration Project
Help make a lasting impact on our local environment while earning service hours! Join VOiCEup Berks and Rentschler Arboretum as we work together to restore native forest habitats.
Rentschler Arboretum is partnering with the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Natural Resources Conservation Service to improve the health of its forests by removing invasive tree and shrub species and replacing them with native plants. This long-term restoration project will enhance wildlife habitat, improve biodiversity, and create healthier forests for future generations.
As a volunteer, you may help with a variety of projects, including:

Moving branches, brush, and small logs from recently removed invasive Norway Maple trees.

Preparing forested areas for the planting of 500 native trees and shrubs this fall.

Staking planting locations and clearing areas for new native plants.

Assisting with general grounds maintenance and conservation projects throughout the Arboretum.
What to Bring:

Closed-toe shoes or hiking boots.

Clothes you don't mind getting dirty.

A reusable water bottle.

Please be prepared for moderate physical activity, including walking on uneven terrain, bending, lifting, and carrying branches and brush. No prior experience is necessary—just bring a positive attitude and a willingness to help!
