S.T.A.R. Film Discussion Series (Racial Equity/Social Justice)
Join student leaders from the YVC Stand Together Against Racism youth initiative to discuss thought-provoking films. Watch the movie prior to the virtual discussion. Students and adults are welcome to join us! Discussions are held via zoom except when noted.
Sept 24, 2025 - The Hate U Give, a powerful drama based on Angie Thomas’s bestselling novel. It follows Starr Carter, a Black teenager who witnesses the fatal police shooting of her unarmed friend. As she grapples with trauma, pressure from her community, and systemic injustice, Starr finds the courage to speak out and fight for justice.
