Tech Workshop: Design A Computer Game!
Join us for an afternoon, learning about modern technology and programs while we explore fun and creative activities!
In this workshop, students will learn how to use GameMaker Studio, an intuitive program for the creation of electronic games. They will learn to create a basic running and jumping game, and how to customize the game. They will also learn where to download game creation software and find tutorials to create other games they can imagine!
TechGirlz is a non-profit organization that develops workshops for middle school girls, where young girls can explore technology from a variety of fields. Topics provided by TechGirlz include filmmaking/editing, 3D designing and printing your own jewelry, managing cybersecurity, creating your own website or app, coding your own computer game, and many more!
Today, VOiCEup Berks staff and local college students will lead a workshop from 10am-2pm, with a break included (pack a lunch, if you'd like!). 5-8th grade girls are invited to join us; reserve your spot now before seats fill up! Address to computer lab will follow.
